Describe the Type of Work you do?

I’m a technical sales rep for TulsaConnect since Oct 2014 and have been in technical sales since 1997. We provide co-location, Private Cloud, data center connectivity, and DR/BC solutions.

What led you to a career in technology?

My degree is in Finance and took an internship with ioNET in accounting (1997) and hated it. It was extremely boring so I passed that off to my then girlfriend (now wife) and took an internship in sales/marketing. The Internet was just starting to take off and the technology kept my attention as well as solving problems for my customers. I haven’t looked back!

Why did you join OKWIT?

Initially as a way to network with fellow people in technology but once I understood the purpose of the meeting/group it changed to assisting those in technology. Givers gain is a great motto to live by!

What book are you reading right now?

I read various books mainly on sports trivia and a few books on health (specifically GMO’s) but it is hard for me to read anything for long periods of time with 2 teenage boys who are busy with sports and activities!

Favorite TV Show? Movie?

TV Show – several: ‘Hell on Wheels’, ‘Marco Polo’, ‘Peaky Blinders’, ‘Game of Thrones’.
Movie: Pulp Fiction

What is your favorite App?

Not sure if I have one favorite app but I recently moved away from Apple iOS and switched to an Android OS. I love how Google integrates with my PC and Nexus 5x. My oldest son helped with that transition…. At least the phone selection….

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I was a carpenter during college working for my dad. I learned a lot about hard work and the value of a college education!!!!

If you could have dinner with any 3 people, dead or alive, who would you choose?

The ancestor who changed our name from Flough to Flow…. Abraham Lincoln and Robin Williams.

If you could change one thing in today’s society, what would it be?

The acceptance of others regardless of skin color or sexual orientation.
