Oklahoma Women in Technology (OKWIT) is a non-profit dedicated to supporting women in technology careers. We are committed to our mission statement and to providing an atmosphere free of discrimination regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion, or socioeconomic status. We do not tolerate bullying or harassment in any form. Members, guests, and attendees may be removed from the group or premises of in-person functions at the discretion of board members or OKWIT leadership.
HARASSMENT
Forms of harassment include but are not limited to: sexual language or imagery; sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes; acts that belittle or insult others in any way; offensive verbal or written comments; deliberate intimidation; stalking or following; unwarranted photography or recording; sustained disruption of event programming; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. Members, guests, and attendees are expected to comply with the OKWIT Code of Conduct and may be asked to leave or may be removed from the group or any events without warning.
If members, guests or attendees engage in harassing or discriminatory behavior, they may, but not be limited to, given a warning or expulsion from membership to the organization and/or attendance of events.
If you experience or observe harassment of any form or have concerns, please contact a member of OKWIT leadership. OKWIT leadership may take all appropriate actions to handle a situation and inform the OKWIT board. OKWIT leadership is happy to assist in the contacting of local authorities or take steps needed to ensure a safe environment for members, guests and attendees.
EVENTS
At all events affiliated with Oklahoma Women in Tech, we expect all attendees – including but not limited to members, sponsors, and vendors – to behave in a professional manner.
