Cheers to the new year! It’s crazy to think that we are now in 2021. Time has flown by & yet stood still many times within 2020. I’m excited and hopeful for our future as an organization as we celebrate our fifth year of bridging the gender gap in STEM fields.
When I first attended an OKWIT event in May of 2016, I had no idea the impact this organization would have on me personally and professionally. It’s a community of passionate and inspiring members that support, uplift, and encourage one another. It means the world to me. OKWIT is making a tangible impact in many lives across the state, and I am incredibly honored to serve as your President for 2021.
As we enter the new year, I am excited to take all the experiences from 2020 to bring you more thoughtful, meaningful, and impactful programming. We have added five new board members to our leadership team this year, with individuals who had long since stepped into volunteer and help OKWIT grow but are now taking a more official role. Please give them a warm welcome:
- Brianna Shara- President-elect
- Rebecca Hartwig- Treasurer
- Jessica Lippert- Director of Special Events
- Mahal Ramos- Director of Member Relations
- Tabatha Carr- Director of Professional Development
