TOPIC: Giving and Accepting Actionable Feedback by Linda Clark is the principal in an organizational development coaching and consulting firm specializing in the power of effective team creation and growth, the power of feedback in innovative cultures, and strategic people operations. Her business focuses on peak performance, authenticity, and personal presence as a combination for success for individuals and organizations by highlighting the mindful selection of the best skills for the current situation and applying them with confidence. With nearly twenty years of experience in strategic human resources and organizational development in automotive retail, energy, manufacturing, non-profit segments and more, her reputation includes an operational focus combined with respect and empathy at all levels. She’s the only Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator in Oklahoma, devoted leadership geek, and mom to a 3 year old draft horse named Smooch.

 

Dare to Lead Facilitator Certification Program is an empirically based training and certification program for leadership and organizational development professionals, based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The focus of their training and certification program is courage-building.

Daily, organizations face feedback challenges when strategic goals are missed, processes or policies prove ineffective, behavioral challenges interrupt opportunities for success, or stakeholder disappointments are realized. Feedback is a financial foundation of organizational culture and success.

 

    • Discuss navigation of feedback conversations from an outcome perspective. Identifying resistance and offering support to move through the point of resistance and into change
    • Understanding how personal, relationship and identity triggers influence the feedback conversation and often stall the change entirely

The Enlightened Professional – Let’s face it. Life is full and frenetic for a professional. While much is offered regarding life balance – and we all believe we need it – what is it we are truly striving for as human beings rather than human doings? Creating a professional life while maintaining oneself as a “whole” person can be challenging. This session mentor will facilitate a discussion on personal tools to achieve thriving through transitions (career and in life). These discussion topics may include creativity, communication, conflict management, leadership, finding your dream job, discovering your “place” or other soft skills by your request.

 

About Brandy Semore:

Brandy Semore currently serves as Sr. Director of IT Services Engagement & PMO for Pinnacle Business Systems (Pinnacle). Pinnacle designs and implements technology solutions for customers across various industries. As the Sr. Director, Brandy is responsible for understanding strategic objectives of the organization to assist in developing a clear vision for the engineering and PMO teams, then working with the those teams to translate objectives into attainable goals while monitoring and measuring performance. With her role also focused on customer engagement, Brandy is responsible for ensuring that Pinnacle’s technology solutions align seamlessly with customer expectations. Brandy’s management experience spans various fields with a strong grounding in internet, data center operations and business management strategies. She holds a B.A. in Journalism from Oklahoma State University, a MBA from Oklahoma City University, and is PMP certified with the Project Management Institute.

 

Brandy is the 2018 recipient of the Journal Record award, “50 Making a Difference” for Woman of The Year, and is dedicated to coaching others in managing successful projects, as seen from her blog articles Project Success: Six Factors. She is a known advocate for women working in technology, currently serving as advisory board member for Oklahoma Women in Technology (OKWIT), which she co-founded in 2016. Most recently, Brandy accepted the position as President for CASMEO, a non-profit organization that focuses on using STEAM initiatives as a tool to help children in Oklahoma who have/or are experiencing trauma in their lives.

 

…and just like many women in the professional realm, Brandy is searching to find the balance between career woman, non-profit volunteer, wife, and mom of two young children.

Tech Company Features Jessica Legako in Art Exhibition Oklahoma City-based tech company amshot spends most days focusing on IT services and software development, but once per quarter, local arts and charity take center stage at its downtown office. exhibITion: Far Away Lands, a collection of contemporary works by Oklahoma artist Jessica Legako, will be showcased on July 25 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the art show, sale, and reception. Her works will remain in amshot’s office throughout the summer. Benefiting Oklahoma Women in Tech (OKWIT), the event is co-sponsored by COOP Ale Works. It will take place at 428 Dean A McGee Avenue. It might seem unusual for an IT company to be promoting local art and culture, but Michael C. Thomas, CEO of amshot says, “our organization is committed to combining art, fun and community service as a core part of our business.” The proceeds of each exhibITion art show benefit a local charity, giving art-lovers more reason to attend. Each show has attracted upward of 150 persons — some are there for the artist, some are there for the art, some for the community, “and some for the beer,” jokes Thomas, as a local brewery provides beer to attendees 21+ for a $5 donation to the selected charity. “I’ve been a longtime fan of Jessica’s work, and I’ve commissioned pieces from her over the years,” said Rick Alliss, COO of amshot. “I’m really excited to feature one of my favorite local artists right in our office.” Legako’s works portray texture, movement, distance, and depth, primarily using intricately layered oil paint on wood or canvas surfaces. She draws inspiration from her childhood, dreams, aspirations, and nostalgic memories, playing off the relationship between the image she creates and the wood grain it is created on. In addition to selling the art on display at the July 25th event, Legako will also be debuting a collaborative line of canvas bags, pouches, and totes with local upholstery studio Thready or Knot. “exhibITion is amshot’s way of providing another outlet for promoting local artists in downtown Oklahoma City,” said Thomas. “It’s all about combining art, fun, and community service.”
