The University of Tulsa (TU) is seeking to hire a full-time teaching Instructor in Cyber Security and Director of Co-Curricular Activities beginning August 2021. As part of its new strategic plan, TU is building on its long history of excellence in cyber security, establishing a new, interdisciplinary School of Cyber Studies to house undergraduate and graduate programs.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to teach hands-on and project-based courses in cyber security spanning technical and human dimensions. Areas of interest include system security, incident response, digital forensics, network security, secure software engineering, and enterprise risk management. The candidate will collaborate with current faculty to develop and teach courses for the new BS in Cyber Security, in addition to teaching in graduate programs.
The successful candidate will allocate 25% of their time to the role of Director of Co-Curricular Activities. As Director, the successful candidate will manage relationships with external partners to facilitate experiential learning activities for students, including internship placements, competitive learning extracurricular activities, and project-based learning inside the curriculum. Salary and benefits are commensurate with academic qualifications, teaching and industry experience.

Faculty from engineering, computer science, business, psychology, law and more regularly teach courses and conduct research in cyber security. The successful candidate will work in the new interdisciplinary School of Cyber Studies, which will offer B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. TU is a private university with approximately 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering and Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, and Law. - Master’s or higher degree in cyber security, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, information systems or related field
- Professional or teaching experience
- Fluency in multiple programming languages
- Experience with system administration
- Experience with security tools
- Experience working in cyber security at the enterprise level
