We are currently in search of an IT Applications Manager to join our Information Technology team! The IT Applications Manager oversees the organization’s third-party and internally managed IT applications used to support business processes and services across the organization, including technologies hosted on-premise and in the cloud. This position will work with the business unit owners to ensure the applications are implemented, maintained/upgraded, tested, proper user rights and security policies are followed and that the application is utilized in accordance with the organization’s strategic priorities and industry best practices. This position will report directly to the Vice President of IT Solutions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related content area preferred. High school diploma required.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

Experience

  • 5+ years of information technology systems experience, including oversight and administration of applications required
  • 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft’s collaboration and productivity applications such as Teams, SharePoint and Visual Studio required
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture required
  • Specific technical knowledge or experience building, deploying, and managing Microsoft C# (.Net) web applications that support the organization’s work
  • Knowledge of information infrastructure technologies (e.g., relational databases, reporting, or visualization systems) required
  • 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft’s collaboration and productivity applications such as Teams, SharePoint and Visual Studio required
  • Ability to provide clear direction by fostering common vision, setting priorities, and clarifying roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to coach and develop others, including people that are not direct subordinates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate concepts and activities accurately, effectively, and in ways that are suited to the organization’s varied stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and execute business plans, effectively manage a budget, and lead change management efforts.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills exercised with good judgment; ability to present issues clearly and concisely.
  • Sound judgment in handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Ability to work collegially and diplomatically across the organization and with various audience groups.
  • A facility for resolving conflict among multiple parties.

Licenses and Certifications

  • MTA, MCSA, MCSE, or MCSD preferred

Essential Job Functions:

  • Primary contact responsible for communicating and executing the organizations application management expectations to internal and external partners. This includes but is not limited to 3rd party vendor management practices, coordinating risk management efforts internally and externally, and ensuring the appropriate policies and procedures are followed by all employees utilizing the application.
  • Oversee the functionality, stability, and security of the organization’s applications and systems, which include, but are not limited to, MAS90, GIK, CRM, FTCT Applications, Community Partner Portal, M&E, UltiPro, Creditron, Luminate, BBIS, volunteer systems, Pangea solutions and Office 365.
  • Work with the application vendors to ensure that the organization is maintaining the most up to date version and is using it in accordance with the vendor’s terms and conditions and specifications.
  • Manage user and access rights and permissions on designated systems and applications.
  • Configure and manage sound security protocols on the designated systems and applications and conduct threat and vulnerability assessments against them while working with the Information Security Director to ensure compliance with cyber security operating standards.
  • Evaluate and assess external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired organizational priorities and industry best practices. This includes assisting departments with initial evaluation of new application vendors and representing specific information technology requirements or standards.
  • Work with the Chief Information Officer to ensure the organization’s IT operating and capital expenditures are managed within scope and within their planned budgets.
  • Work with the VP of IT Operations and the VP of IT Solutions to develop and update policies, procedures, and best practices that govern the organization’s applications and systems.
  • Maintain a network of trusted advisors, consultants, and vendors to help assess the effectiveness of application systems and IT service models to advise whether they are the most effective means of meeting and supporting any changing business priorities.
  • Establish in-person and virtual training platforms to keep end-users informed of best practices. Including data management and user rights and privileges.
  • Maintain knowledge on new application technologies and platforms and provide direction on what emerging technologies should be considered, integrated, and introduced at the organization to ensure that IT capabilities respond to the needs of the organization’s strategic priorities.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight and take ownership of the design, development, and support of IT systems that fulfill the needs of the organization’s business units, including the full life cycle of technical architecture, equipment, and IT service support.
  • Provide assistance to staff responsible for or engaged in internal or external audits. Such responsibilities include gathering important documents from vendors, assessing audit questions related to applications, and, if required, support remediation plans and associated tasks.
  • Work with and oversee IT consultants and vendors engaged by the organization to develop, manage and support applications or projects, such as CPP.
