The University of Oklahoma Libraries is seeking a Library Publishing & Repository Developer. This position is primarily responsible for the development and operational administration of University of Oklahoma Libraries document repositories and library publishing platforms.
Additionally, the position supports other key infrastructure underlying the OU Libraries technology strategy, and works with other members of the division to cross-train and provide in-depth support across other platforms and services.
The developer in this position is expected to apply a modern DevOps approach to the continuous improvement of operational practices, system reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in programming, information technology or a related field, or equivalent of education/job-related experience AND:
- 36-48 months of experience in technology and operations.
Demonstrated commitment to achieving equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace and the community.
Demonstrable experience in application development.
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure.
Highly developed written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
Expertise in multiple software applications with ability to interface between them, including LAMP and Nginx environments.
Ability to develop and integrate highly complex information technology systems.
Independently learn appropriate techniques to apply and adapt new ideas in related, different, or changing situations.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members and units in articulating and achieving goals, along with ability to work independently.
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, innovative environment an ability to adjust schedule to meet deadlines and busy periods.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods; may be required to lift, bend, stoop and carry; ability to engage in repetitive motions, grasp objects with fingers or hands; communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others.
- Master’s degree in an applicable computer technology or information science field.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Experience with the maintenance and administration of publishing platforms and repositories, including Islandora, DSpace, Open Journal Systems, etc.
- Familiarity with current and arising libraries and learning support technologies.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code practices using Ansible, Terraform, shell scripts, and other tools.
- Proficient in data collection and reporting.
- Experience with notification platforms (Zabbix, Grafana, ELK).
