Job Description

 

The mission of the Tom love Innovation Hub is to increase innovation and entrepreneurship at the University of Oklahoma and across Oklahoma. In 2018, the Tom Love Innovation Hub launched the Oklahoma Catalyst Programs: a collection of programs designed to catalyze economic development in Oklahoma by providing networking, training, and mentoring to Oklahoma small businesses. The Oklahoma Catalyst Programs is focused on promoting the Small Business Innovation and Research Program (SBIR/STTR), a $3B+ annual federal funding opportunity that is intended to facilitate innovative research and product development among U.S. small businesses. 
 
The Tom Love Innovation Hub has an opening for an Oklahoma Catalyst Programs Associate in Tulsa. This position is a key member of the Tom Love Innovation Hub staff, working closely with the Executive Director, the Oklahoma Catalyst Programs Director, and other members of the Tom Love Innovation Hub leadership. The OK Catalyst Programs Tulsa Associate will assist with day-to-day operations for various Oklahoma Catalyst Programs across the state of Oklahoma, including coordinating operations, engaging in statewide outreach, scheduling activities, developing content, and managing budgets. The OK Catalyst Programs Tulsa Associate will also develop and manage programs in the Tulsa area. The OK Catalyst Programs Tulsa Associate may also manage the student teams implementing and supporting these various programs. This is a grant-funded position.

 

Job Requirements

 Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND

  • 18 months program and development and management

Skills:

  • Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English
  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff

Certifications:

  • Valid drivers license

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions and communicate effectively.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Bachelor Degree and 24 mo experience
  • Familiarity with the Tulsa metro area
  • Significant exposure to consulting, entrepreneurship, and/or research grants
  • Basic Knowledge of SBIR/STTR Program
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Programs
  • Familiarity with the University of Oklahoma policies and procedures

Supervision: Undergraduate and/or graduate students
