This half day event is aimed at all young women ages 13-18 years for a behind-the-scenes look into the variety of career opportunities available in the Oklahoma tech industry. We welcome individual attendees as well as larger groups and their chaperones.
This free-to-attend event includes the chance to meet women who make an impact in tech roles and companies across our state and see first hand what it is like to have a career in tech.
Tech is a growing field in Oklahoma, and traditional companies are evolving into tech companies. This event aims to help young adults explore the many forms a tech career can take.
Who can attend?
In recognition of the ongoing gender gap in IT within the classroom and in the workforce, we specifically market this event free of charge to females in local area middle and high schools (ages 13 – 18). While this event targets women, we openly welcome men who want to engage in the conversation and contribute to a more equitable, diverse society.
A lot of planning and support goes into a day like our OKWIT Spring Retreat retreat.
While the 2019 Retreat has come to an end, if you’d like to receive information about volunteering at the 2019 Fall Retreat in OKC, or about other volunteer opportunities with OKWIT, please email us!
